Gorgeous car, so rare...but $35k for a car that needs to be registered in the US for the first time, and who knows what kind of BS you're going to have to go through to get that done?

I like it a lot, but CP for a lot of reasons, most notably:

The car is sold with EPA and Customs paperwork, as well as a Italian DMV paperwork transferring title to me. I haven't registered it in the United States.

I like that the guy is honest about how trying to register it, and make it US (CA) Spec is going to be expensive, but $35k before its even registered? I just can't imagine paying that. Obviously, you could get a new 2-series for that.

Wait, you mean I can get a non-M3 for more money than an M3?! Sign me up! Sarcasm aside I suppose the rarity is worth something for now. But in substance, and since it's not registered, which may end up costing who knows how much, CP.

register it in Minnesota. No tax, no smog. And how does he drive it with no registration? It was his wife's new DD wasn't it?

Agreed, I LOVE the car and enjoyed reading the entire ad... And I'm sure someone would be crazy enough to want to go through that ordeal, but $35k before even getting started on that nightmare is rough.

No idea, speaking of which - how did he drive it up the coast from San Diego? I like their style, given that the wife had a 190E Cosworth too.

But why is he selling this now, right after going through the trouble of buying the car and getting it over?

Yup, it's gorgeous but you've gotta be a special kind of lunatic to want to buy this car!
